My name is True.
I am a Rapper, Poet, Artist from The Southside of Chicago.

BLACK HEARTED was born from a belief that dreams can survive chaos. Through music, visual art, and storytelling, I explore love, loss, identity, imagination, and transformation.

Everything I create exists under one philosophy:

I create from a place where art and spirit meet. As a poet, rapper, and visual artist, my work is rooted in emotion, memory, and lived experience growing up on the South Side of Chicago. I don’t just create images—I capture energy. Every lyric , every song, portrait, every line, every piece carries a part of me and the world I come from.

My music & work explores what it means to be a young Black man navigating identity, love, pain, and purpose. I’m drawn to vulnerability—the moments people don’t always show. Through lyricism storytelling portraiture and layered expression, I reveal the depth and humanity that often goes unseen.

Hip-hop is at the core of how I understand storytelling. Raised in a city where rhythm lives in everything—from late-night train rides to dreams of the skyline riding down Lakeshore Drive—I learned how to turn my life into language.

Hip-hop taught me to speak truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, and to find rhythm in both struggle and growth. Through rap and poetry, I came to understand that my voice carries power—that my story holds weight. That same energy lives in my visual work, where each piece becomes another verse, another reflection of what I’ve lived and what I’ve felt.

There’s rhythm in everything I do. Whether it’s through brush strokes or lyrics, my work moves like poetry—fluid, intentional, and honest. I see art as a form of preservation, a way to hold onto moments and emotions before they fade.

Ultimately, my goal is to create work that resonates beyond the surface—to make people feel seen, understood, and connected. My art is a reflection of who I am, where I come from, and who I’m becoming.

My name is True, and I emerged from a landscape where the grid tries to box you in, but the spirit finds a way out. I live in the space where the rhythm of a verse meets the smudge of charcoal on paper. Living in Chicago taught me that beauty isn't found in the polished surface, but in the vulnerability of the struggle. I don't just capture images; I archive the energy of my people. Whether it's through a mic or a brush, I am documenting a vision where a Born Leader Arises From a Chaotic Kingdom, turning our shared pain into an undeniable legacy.
